Well, this was an honestly fascinating post by ABC Canberra as they interacted with other State ABC News office and successfully attracted a huge crowds of Aussies who live in this capital city. I was not surprised when I saw all my friends went crazy reposting this media on their Instagram stories. It depicted how a news post can generate a massive mixed-feeling amongst its audience. I am intrigued to respond ABC Canberra closing remark that goes “Do we deserve it?“
First of all, this Oxford Economics Global Cities Index is a report that made out of compound numbers which then put into a statistical model to determine each cities’ strength to support its population to make informed decisions. Strange, isn’t it? City is no longer seen merely as a place to live, but as an entity that can drive a decision-making process. So now you realised that the outcomes of all this metrics are ‘decision’ or policy/regulation or whatever, but why on earth should we care about that?! I’ll leave that all behind because the more I think about it, the crazier I get. I would like to just utter my honest review about this city in a slang Bahasa out of my boredom in this final assignment week:
ya maklum lah, ngeliat kualitas hidupnya diukur dari metrik duit, ijazah, ama umur. pantesan anak muda yg kere ini rada skeptis ketika denger kota ini dapet gelar kota terbaik kedua di dunia. ini kota, sebagaimana kota” australi lainnya dibangun untuk mobil: transportasi umum susah, urban sprawl yg bikin jarak dari permukiman ke pusat kota makin jauh, hunian tidak terjangkau karena tipikal rumah american dream boros lahan. belom lg tempat” umumnya dibangun dg gaya arsitektur brutalist yg ngebosenin atau deconstructivist yg bikin orang berpikir keras untuk nyari letak keindahannya. gw mah sbg penghuni numpang cuma bisa kedinginan
